The Alberta Kodály Association Presents
Honouring Children: Fostering Creativity and Exploration
A full day workshop featuring Crystal Hendricks; Kodály and Orff master teacher from Chicago, IL
Come explore ideas for creating a classroom atmosphere that is respectful and welcoming of children’s ideas and creativity while maintaining a substantive level of instruction. Using movement, manipulatives, visuals, instruments, improvisation, and much more, students will feel empowered to demonstrate their ideas in the classroom and teachers will gain insight into the thought processes of their students. Students will feel more invested in the music as their ideas are honored and creativity will abound as innovation becomes a classroom norm.
Presented in conjunction with the Alberta Children’s Choir weekend
Sponsored by the Alberta Choral Federation
